MARINA AURELI Biography

 

 

ABOuT HER

 

A singer-songwriter, a graduate in Modern Languages and Literature, who developed her skill
through working with international musicians.

Although she was born in Italy, she started singing in English at the age of five.
When she was still a child, she began playing the guitar in order to accompany herself as well as
to entertain her family.
At the age of eight she took guitar and dancing lessons, but also attended a drama school and
started studying singing.

 

After getting her high school diploma, she matriculated but kept on nourishing her passion for music
singing international songs in rock-blues bands or taking part in semi-professional festivals.

Later on she sang in a jazz band composed of eighteen professional musicians performing in a
variety of situations.
That experience marked the beginning of a new phase in her life, during which she joined various
international bands in order to record CDs, videos, and television shows.


Afterwards, she sang in a duo whose aim was to play acoustic versions of American pop songs.
In the same period, together with musician Sergio Scola, she joined an international cover group,
called The Black Beat, with whom she was able to improve her vocal skill being inspired by the
charming arrangements of the introspective guitarist.
Such an experience, which was marked by performances in Italian as well as in European clubs,
culminated in a low-budget record production.

 

Later on, she graduated with full marks and honours from University of Milan, where she had studied
English and Portuguese.
Afterwards, together with guitarist Sergio Scola, she started writing songs in English and in Italian,
which she hopes will enrich the extremely variegated world of music.

 

During this period, she wrote, arranged and recorded many songs in her home recording studio
called Room Studio Productions.

Later on, together with Sergio Scola, she wrote, produced and directed three beautiful music videos,
which showed her visual talent.

 

She has recently begun performing in clubs and in small theatres in Italy and abroad.
She has attended The International Music Fair and has begun promoting THE CURLS' music on the radio and on television.

 

She is passionately fond of cinema, art, photography and literature.

SERGIO SCOLA Biography

 
 
About him

 

A musician / songwriter / screenwriter / director, who has improved his skill working as a performer, a programmer and a sound engineer.

Although he was born in Italy, he started playing American as well as English songs when he was very young.

Thanks to his sensibility and natural bent for entertainment, he began studying classical music at the age of thirteen. When he was still a boy, he was involved in school touring which allowed him to become an appreciated blues guitarist.


After getting his high school diploma, he studied as a sound engineer joining some famous Italian musicians on stage and training in some of the most important European recording studios.
Later on, he attended a course in jazz but also took some lessons in composition, arrangement and orchestration. In the same period, he accompanied an English singer playing pop-rock international songs in many Italian clubs.

 

Afterwards, together with musician Marina Aureli, he joined an international cover group, called The Black Beat, that was very fond of funky rhythmic, blues melodies, and typically "black" sonorities. Such an experience, which was marked by performances in Italian as well as in European clubs, culminated in a low-budget record production.

 

He waited for Marina's graduation in order to compose songs in English, which he hopes express his true soul.

Later on, together with Marina Aureli, he wrote, arranged and recorded many songs in his home recording studio called Room Studio Productions.

In the same period, he wrote, produced and directed three beautiful music videos, which showed his visual talent.

He is very fond of art, cinema and photography. He also likes writing film and video scripts.
